Move on! is the fourth topic we will be looking at from our theme for the month of January which is God’s leading (Exodus 13:17-18). We started with ‘God lead me‘, followed by’ How does God lead man‘ then ‘The voice of God’. Throughout these posts, we have realised from the scriptures how important it is to listen and surrender to God’s leading. I encourage you to catch up by reading the previous posts (click on the link in the text) we have shared on the theme and you will be blessed.
Now, following Israel’s departure from Egypt, God had led them with specific instructions through Moses- directing them on which way to go. Not long after they had departed, Pharaoh gathered his best chariots and army in pursuit. It was in that moment when the Israelites saw no chances of survival that they grumbled and blamed Moses for making them leave Egypt. However, God Almighty who was leading them knew which way they were to go. In the face of their challenges, God told them to move on.
God has a plan
Sometimes, everything may go wrong even after you have had a direction to pursue a particular action and you may lose heart, give up faith or regret taking the initiative. Remember this, If Jehovah is the one leading you, then you don’t need to lose heart, or regret you took that step of faith. This is because God who has brought you this far has a plan and would not put you to shame. Instead, rise up and shake off any thought of defeat and trust in the next step God wants you to take. So, Moses encouraged the Israelites to stand firm. Later, God gives him a two worded instruction that requires great faith- Move on!
Move on!
Move on, where? Where is the way? Possibly you have come to a place where you feel trapped and nothing seems to work out. God’s word for you today is ‘move on’. If you can obey God’s leading then and only then will you see the Red Sea part to make way for you. Consider Moses asking the people to move towards the Red Sea when clearly there is no underground tunnel or secret pathway there. Taking a step of faith according to God’s direction is not easy. Yet, those who are able to do so are always marvelled at the surprise the Lord Almighty brings their way. Abraham had to lay Isaac on the altar, Gideon had to face an army of countless soldiers with only 300 men. Today, you have got to move on in the direction God is leading you. Your mind cannot fathom what God is about to do but he says move on.
Eventually, Moses pointed to the Red Sea and it began to part into two. By the next morning, two significant things had changed in the lives of the Israelites. First, they were on the other side of the Red Sea. Second, their enemies were lying dead on the shore. Beloved when God is leading you, there comes a time when you cannot understand but in obeying His instruction you find safety, peace, joy and what you thought was impossible is made possible. Take that move God has been speaking to you about and He will show you His glory.
Jehovah Almighty is a master strategist whose plans are always on point. Behind every action, God executes there’s a greater reason. For instance, in so many ways possible, God could have stopped the harsh treatments the Egyptians meted on the Israelites yet He chose to use plagues and finally the Red Sea to terminate Pharaoh. The reason for this is made clear in Exodus 14:1-4
God is obviously leading you and me in this life. Where He is directing us through and to is perfect only that sometimes we just don’t believe the impossible can happen in our lives. So, we end up grumbling, crying, worrying and regretting the initiatives we have taken when we face challenges. God’s word for you today is to have faith and MOVE ON according to His instruction and you will see the deliverance of the Lord Almighty. Enjoy your day!
God bless you.
