Time is an asset that believers do not have a luxury of. Apostle Paul said we should take advantage of every opportunity, preaching in and out of Season.
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage— with great patience and careful instruction.
It has become a norm among some believers to be diplomatic and avoid the gospel at certain times especially when we are confronted by classmates, colleagues, friends or families. For us to effectively, communicate the gospel we must consider the following:
-
THE TIME TO PREACH IS “IN SEASON AND OUT OF SEASON”
Declaring Jesus does not have to be done without obstacles. This also means that we should not only preach when it is church rally time or evangelism awareness week or when we perceive that the audience targeted appear receptive. These are the in-season times. Out of Season means when there appears to be opposition, we must still preach.
I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.
Opposition comes in various forms. It could be trials, discomfort, confrontations and many more. To be able to breakthrough “out of season” phase, we need to give way to the second point.

LISTEN TO THE LEADINGS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
As factual as point one sounds, it will be very fruitless without the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit prepares the grounds and endorses the timing.
Paul and his companions travelled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.
A group may look unreceptive to the eye but the Holy Spirit will prompt you to approach them and vice versa. I encountered a DIDI driver (works like Uber) and I was led to direct the conversation to salvation. I was looking for the niche to talk about Jesus but it looked on the outside that he would not accept it. My DIDI driver was very knowledgeable. He knew many of the theologians of the gospel. I did not even know half of what he was saying (I am not proud of it lol). In my head, there was an obstacle and just maybe I should just shut up. It was a dialogue between my mind and spirit whether I should pass the message or let him go without passing the message. Then he said his wife is a month-old Christian. He lamented about it and wished his wife would wake up from the gospel (his nightmare). To him, smart people do not fall to the gospel, which is very wrong since astute men, and women have accepted Jesus. Bam! I got the message. This was the dialogue.
Me: ‘Do you see any change in your wife now after accepting Christ?’
Him: Yes.
Me: ‘Do you like it?
Him: ‘Yes. She is now very different.’
Me: ‘Maybe you should consider what caused the change.’
Him: ‘Now is Christianity about us and not God’
Me: ‘What is Christianity without a personal testimony?’(Paraphrased)
Then I alighted. I was very overwhelmed in my spirit after that dialogue. Your case might be similar or different please just listen to the Holy Spirit. Especially, when it looks like ‘out of season”, Listen to the promptings of the spirit. Brethren, we are in the last days of the end times. Souls are perishing and people are dying sinners. Let you and I arise. The time is now. Reach that sibling of yours who is not saved, the friend who is lost and that neighbour who is searching for peace. Jesus is peace!
God bless you
